CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Cincinnati Cyclones took advantage of an early power play opportunity and never looked back. The Cyclones scored three times in the first period, four times in the second, and twice more in the third period to complete a 9-0 rout of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits on Tuesday morning at U.S. Bank Arena.

In front of over 12,300 fans, the Cyclones took advantage of two quick power plays to gain the momentum. Myles Powell got the scoring started on the power play at the 4:07 mark, and Vasili Glotov and Alex Wideman added to the lead to give Cincinnati a 3-0 lead after one.

Cincinnati just never looked back, scoring four times on 10 shots on goal in the second period, with tallies from Mike Marnell, Wideman, defenseman Eric Knodel, and Shaw Boomhower, another power play goal. Garrett Bartus was lifted for Devin Buffalo after 23 minutes, with Buffalo playing out the rest of the action.

Powell and Devante Stephens completed the scoring for Cincinnati.

Jonas Johansson picked up his first shutout in the victory for the home team.

The Swamp Rabbits are back in action Thursday to take on South Division rival Norfolk at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at SwampRabbits.com.
