New York Rangers great Ron Duguay sat down with Howlings Saturday for a brief interview at Pier 86 as the Blueshirts welcomed kids to come out play hockey and meet some players.
The Legendary Rod Gilbert and fan-favorite Brian Mullen were on hand in the morning to great fans. Ruslan Fedotenko, who is now an unrestricted free-agent from the current Ranger team, was a surprise guest for those in attendance in the morning session. In the afternoon, Duguay and one time New York Ranger and Hartford Wolf Pack Assistant Coach Nick Fotiu greeted fans.
Street hockey teams from across the Big Apple played in a mini-tournament and a multitude of others played pick-up hockey games and took turns in a Rangers hockey bouncer and had a lot of fun taking slap shots on goal in another inflatable.
Between sessions, Duguay shared his thoughts on some of the Whale players that made the Rangers this season, his thoughts on the coaching staff and the tragic loss of Derek Boogaard.
