Third-year Pro has 28 Points in 41 Games with Brampton of ECHL

HARTFORD, February 8, 2019: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Chris Drury announced today that the Wolf Pack has signed the defenseman to a Professional Tryout (PTO) agreement.
The 6-1, 201-pound Petgrave, who is in his third year of pro hockey, has skated in 41 games this season with the Brampton Beast of the ECHL. The Toronto native leads the Beast team in plus/minus, with a +16, tops team defensemen in points and assists and stands fifth overall on the team in assists, with 6-22-28. Petgrave’s 44 penalty minutes are fourth among Brampton skaters.
Last season Petgrave, 27, totaled 15 AHL games of action among three teams. He played 12 games with the Laval Rocket, one with the Belleville Senators and two with the Syracuse Crunch. Petgrave was scoreless with 22 penalty minutes in those 15 total contests. In 44 ECHL games with the Beast in 2017-18, he had eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points, along with 72 PIM.
Prior to turning pro, Petgrave played four seasons of Atlantic University Sport (AUS) action at the University of New Brunswick, winning back-to-back CIS University Cups in 2015-16 and 2016-17. In 108 career games with U. New Brunswick, he totaled 13 goals and 47 assists for 60 points, plus 284 penalty minutes.
Before his university stint, Petgrave logged four years in the Ontario Hockey League with the Niagara IceDogs, Owen Sound Attack and Oshawa Generals. In 243 career OHL contests, Petgrave registered 34 goals and 123 assists for 157 points, along with 320 penalty minutes.
The Wolf Pack are back in action tonight, hosting the Syracuse Crunch in a 7:15 PM game at the XL Center. As at all Friday-night Wolf Pack home games, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs, and $2 beers and fountain sodas, through the start of the second period, presented by Nomads Adventure Quest.
