WIIKMAN GOES HOME…SO DOES URQUHART

Ex-Pack and NY Ranger Miika Wiikman told Howlings that he has signed to play in the SM Liiga in his native Finland for Rauman Lukko. Wiikman has previously won the Championship between the pipes in the SM Liiga.

“I’m really grateful for the time that I had in Hartford and the time I spent in New York and Charlotte. The coaches were great and the city and fans were even better. I’ll miss it there, but this was an opportunity I could not pass up.”

Wiikman will marry his fiancé Mari Haasala later this month. Congratulations to a warrior who played his heart out for the fans and his teammates. Many years of happiness for both of you.

In other now ex-player news, defenseman David Urquhart, who spent time in Hartford and Charlotte has been signed by the Hamilton Bulldogs.
